This is a list which will obviously change with time but as of now these are a few of my favourite films...
1. 12 Angry men - a must watch for every film buff... one of the few movies which held my attention for every single minute.. one of the best screenplays i have ever had the privilege of watching..top moment - every single scene
2. American beauty - watched it 5 years ago and somehow its still stuck with me.. beautiful concept, amazing acting from every actor(especially kevin spacey who just makes the whole movie work) and one amazing plastic bag. top moment - the plastic bag scene and the last scene
3. Man on wire - one of the few recent amazing movies i have seen.. amazingly reconstructed an event in the past and the passion of the 'man' is something rarely seen by me in this day an age.. the passion to do something irrespective of the odds against u..top moment- him lying on the wire at that height
4. Citizen Kane - dont like the movie as much as the critics do but it features in my list for two reasons .. a) the simplicity of the moral of the story and b) ORSON WELLS - fan of his for life.. haven seen any actor (other than BIG B) who could do so much just with his voice. top moment - focus on rosebud
5. Memento - Easily one of the weirdest movies i have seen in my life. At first after finishing the movie i didnt realize if i liked it or not but after going thru the synopsis i realised how much i loved the movie. and after seeing the hindi remake whole new appreciation for the movie and for nolan. top moment - still too confused to say a moment.
6. Before sunrise and Before sunset - 2 movies which are easily one of my top romance movies of all time. The only movies which maded me believe that ethan hawke can act. easily one of the most realistic romances and again one of the best screenplays.
7. Singing in the rain - ok have to admit dont watch many musicals but doubt if any will top this.. couldn stop smiling throughout the movie. the charm of the actors, the dances the sets just amazing.
OTHERs -Eternal sunshine on a spotless mind, Good will hunting, Bourne series, Rambo(first blood only), Face off, Rocky part one, Die hard etc etc
Obviously there are hundred more which dont seem to be popping into my mind right now... bollywood list to follow some day..

Another burger another disappointment!
went to casa picolla to c if the burger had any semblance to the burger i loved as 8 years back as a boy and boy was i wrong.. the bun was crisp the burger was weirdly crisp and and not at all juicy, had an indian taste to it(indian tastes should be reserved for indian dishes... somehow against the whole indian burger/pizza and god forbid someday pasta concept)... the saving grace on the plate was the fries which were definitely decent...anyway the best burger search continues......

Indiana
Place near brigade road.... been there since i remember being in bangalore.. and nothing much has changed here in all these years(even though it got renovated in between)
as far as indianised burgers go its one of the best.. tried the lamb jumbo burger meal (plus fried and coke)....for 95 rs and considering the fact that i got it within 5-10 minutes its easily one of the most decent indian burgers around... the mayo on the table is decent too.a.. as it has a little mustard in it too it complements well with the indian spices in the burger... much better than the maharaja mac though equally messy to eat...biggest poblem i had with it was the huge raw onion in the middle which was quite a pain....either caramalising(read it another blog and thats what they usually do) it or just cutting it thin (which i think wont bug u so much) would have gone a long way.
as a burger 2/5 as an indian burger 3.5/5(the extra .5 for the mayo)

Top ten burgers in Bangalore
This pursuit was inspired by 2 things - an episode on how i met your mother on the Best burger in chicago(season 4 ep2 ) and my disappointment till date with the burgers (or the indianised cutlets which u get in most places) in bangalore... started of with the usual suspect( by that i mean the cheap most popular joints ) and plan to slowly move up the food chain( the expensive .. go if u have money places)...
As for the usual suspects - Mc dees and KFC - really dont like the burgers here - the maharaja makes me realise why royalty sucks .. the mchicken is an edible thing though not my idea of a burger.. though in its defence its a decent chicken burger as the chicken is usually well fried and the mayo is actually decent... prefer the zinger of kfc between the two as the peice of chicken is slightly better and on the whole it is more filling. but as i said before both not my idea of a burger.
The only place - as far as peices of meet go not much complaints ... as far as toppings go a lot... the burger just doesnt come out 'juicy' in ur mouth and at the end of it its just meat and bun.. the mustard they serve along is more of a steak mustard and not a burger mustard as it is too stong for it... the only thing that it has going for it is the price as for 80-110 rs its a pretty good deal... have to revisit the place to try the sloppy joe some day...
Casa picolla- used to love their sloppy joes back when my palate wasnt that refined and the burger was sloppy... went there like 6 months back and it should be called tidy joe now... it was too cleanly cut and something seemed to be missing in the taste dept too... anyway since starting the list now will go again in the near future to c if anything has changed
Will be going to TGIF today and hoping for a good burger experience (for 350 bucks it better be good)
